13 men will appear in a special court sitting this afternoon charged with assault and damaging property over the brawl between villagers of Nasavu and Nailuva in Ra as police continue to interrogate others over the death a man during the incident.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed a total of 45 men from the two villages were taken in for questioning and their investigations into the death continues while the 13 men will appear in court.
It is understood that a brawl broke out between the two groups over past differences.
Meanwhile, a 36 year old man from Savusavu has been charged with one count of murder and one count of an act with intent to cause bodily harm for the alleged murder of 24 year old, Iowane Urai in Nawi, Savusavu earlier this week.
The suspect is in police custody and is expected to appear at the Labasa Court on Monday.
Urai was drinking home-brew with some of his friends when an argument occurred that led to his death while his other friends were treated for minor injuries.
