Special arrangements have been made for overseas based players who are expected to miss the Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens but will make the core team to defend the Melrose Cup in Dubai.
These players, namely Semisi Naevo, Jone Daunivucu, Neumi Nanuku, Apolosi Satala, Sireli Bobo, Timoci Nagusa, Filimoni Bolavucu, Dan Rawaqa and Napolioni Nalaga, are deemed fit and experienced to be part of the 25-member squad to prepare for the defense of the Rugby World Cup in Dubai.
Speaking to Fijivillage, HPU manager Daniel Lobendhan Jnr said a squad of 25 will be announced at the Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens this weekend.
However, Lobendhan added that as of now, it will be a waiting game to see when those based overseas will arrive.
Ilivasi Tabua is still awaiting the results of Agen based Rupeni Caucau's fitness test results which is due to arrive any time next week.
The Rugby World Cup 7s kicks off in Dubai on March 6th thorough to the 8th.
