A special team has been formed to investigate all those officers who were involved in the brutal arrest of escapee Josefa Baleiloa, who passed away at the CWM hospital on Tuesday morning.
Deputy Police Commissioner Eroni Antonio has revealed that Director CID SP Tevita Lesu has been instructed to investigate officers who were part of the team that arrested Baleiloa in Cunningham on 28th July.
Antonio said the officers who are mostly from the strike back team are still with the Police Force and decisions will be made after police receives the post mortem report.
The Deputy Commissioner has also revealed that the Director CID will decide later whether the prison officers who were also part of the recapture team will be brought in for questioning.
General Manager CWM Hospital Doctor Eloni Tora has confirmed the post mortem will be conducted today.
