A special taskforce has been set up to identify problem areas in the northern division with the frequent reports of leptospirosis and typhoid for this month.

Interim Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma confirmed this saying the taskforce will be tasked with identifying areas that had recorded cases of leptospirosis and typhoid so that they can inspect the areas to determine the root causes.

The taskforce has been given a two weeks period to carry out their investigation and give a report back to Doctor Sharma.

Health PRO Iliesa Tora also revealed that the north also has the highest number of dengue cases from around the country with 115 cases and 159 cases of diarrhea.
