A special Police Constable based at the Sigatoka Police Station has been charged with one count of rape.
The officer is alleged to have raped a woman in Sigatoka on Monday.
It is alleged that the special constable picked up the woman from Sigatoka town and took her to an isolated spot, where the two started drinking.
It is then alleged that the constable raped her.
He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
