The Special Administrators for the different municipalities in Fiji have been named to replace the Mayors by the Local Government Ministry.
The announcement by the Local Government Permanent Secretary Ram Chandar includes as Special Administrators, Vijendra Prakash for Suva and Lami, Meli Bogileka for Nasinu, Mr Napolioni Masirewa for Nausori and Levuka, Arun Prasad for Ba and Tavua, Aisea Tuidraki for Sigatoka and Nadi, Josefa Vucago for Lautoka and Vijay Chand for Labasa and Savusavu.
One of the Special Administrators Meli Bogileka said it will be a challenge especially with regards to the situation of overdue rates currently facing the council.
The Special Administrators approved by Cabinet are to start work next Monday.
