Mid fielder Xabi Alonso was the hero for Spain scoring two goals to beat France 2-0 and book a semi final spot in the EURO 2012.
Alonso who is paid $30 million annually by Real Madrid celebrated his 100th appearance for Spain scoring one goal from the spot kick and the other through a header.
Spain will now meet Portugal in the semi final at 6.45am Thursday.
Meanwhile Germany is the second team to qualify and will meet Italy or England who will play tomorrow at 6.45am.
