European and world champions Spain will use team tactics to disrupt Portugal's captain Cristiano Ronaldo on Thursday in the first EURO 2012 semifinal.

Ronaldo has been Euro 2012's standout player scoring three goals.

He was on target twice as Portugal defeated Netherlands 2-1 and hit the winner in the 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic.

Ronaldo has come into the tournament off the back of an excellent domestic season, in which he scored 46 goals for his club in 38 games.

Portugal will play Spain on Thursday and Germany will take on Italy on Friday.

Both matches kick off at 6.45am.

The final will be played next Monday.
