David Villa scored twice as Spain beat Honduras 2-0 in Group H to earn their first win at the 2010 World Cup and boost their hopes of reaching the knockout stages.

Villa opened Spain's account in the first half before he increased the score 2-nil in the second half.

He was unlucky to miss the third from the penalty spot.

The win has seen Spain secure 3 points and are now second in the points standing with Chile who beat Switzerland 1-nil still leading with 6 points.

Mark Gonzalez's late header was enough for Chile to overcome a stubborn defensive display from 10 man Switzerland and leave the South Americans on the verge of qualification for the last 16.
