South Africa is opening its doors to Ma’a Nonu as the All Blacks midfielder’s Super Rugby future looks increasingly bleak.

Nonu appears unwanted by any of the five New Zealand franchises, with a return to the Hurricanes about the only remaining option.

Springboks captain Jean de Villiers said they’d definitely have him in their part of the world.

De Villiers, who will play his 91st Test tomorrow, has been playing against Nonu for almost 10 years and said the All Blacks star cannot be written off.
