South Africa have won the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens Cup final, defeating Australia 33-7 in a clinical display of Sevens rugby, with Kwagga Smith putting in a commanding performance in attack and defence.

South Africa scored five tries with Australia’s try came from Pama Fou.

Captain Kyle Brown says team work was the major contributing factor to their victory and they will be hoping to maintain their winning form in Port Elizabeth next weekend.

Earlier, South Africa produced a dominant 28-0 win over defending series champions New Zealand to book a place in the Cup final and also defeated Argentina 40-0 in the quarter final.

South Africa is now second on the HSBC World 7s series with 37 points, three points behind the Vodafone Fiji 7s team who is currently leading the table with Australia on third with 29 points followed by the All Blacks on fourth place with 28 points.
