Only 6 hours remain for the Australia 7s to kick off and this is the first time South Africa will try to defend their title.
The last title South Africa won was the first leg of the 2008/09 series in George and Dubai, they bowed out to Argentina in the quarter finals of the World Cup, and were edged 26-24 by the Digicel Fiji 7s team in last weeks finals in Hong Kong.
Leading on 84 points with only three tournaments to go, Paul Treu said to win the title will be awesome, but, as of now they will just have to focus.
Meanwhile, the Gordon Tietjens coached side have not won any tournament in the series so far, and will just try to get past the quarter-finals.
The Australia 7s kicks off at 7 tonight with Kenya meeting Japan, South Africa meets Cook Islands at 7:22pm, New Zealand take on Wales at 8:06pm.
Fiji's first game is at 8:28pm against Scotland.
