Flying Fijians tighthead prop Setefano Somoca’s future in the national side will come under the spotlight in this afternoon’s Pacific Nations Cup match against Japan.
Somoca replaces the injured Deacon Manu who has been the number 1 choice for the tighthead position.
The way the Japanese forwards demolished the heavier Tongan pack on Saturday, it means that Somoca will have to hold his ground to prove his worth that he can also be in the running for the team to the World Cup.
Manager Talemo Waqa said every player that has been part of the Fiji team in this PNC knows that this is a stepping stone to the final 30 member team for the RWC.
