Vodafone Fiji 7’s coach Gareth Baber says he is now working with the Fiji Rugby Union to ensure that National 7's players are contracted in the coming weeks.

Baber who arrived in Fiji this morning from Hong Kong says there is a potential that some players will be contracted before the Wellington 7’s later this month.

Baber has also highlighted that it was important for him to be in Fiji before any contracts were issued.

He says it is necessary for any group of international rugby players to have stability and consistency in their lives and the FRU has identified this as a means for getting better performances.

Baber has a wealth of experience as a 7s player, playing and captaining the Wales National 7s Team in the World Rugby Series, two Rugby 7s World Cup tournaments and two Commonwealth Games.

The former Hong Kong 7’s coach says he is proud to be in Fiji and excited to keep Fiji 7's on the top.

Baber's first assignment with the Fiji 7’s team will be at the Wellington 7s on the 28th‑29th of this month.
