The Digicel Matai selection for the Uprising Fiji International 7's suffered a setback with some key players who were named to be part of the team now ruled out.

Players like Nemani Nagusa, Semesa Gonevou and William Ryder were named to be in the Matai selection team but late yesterday afternoon they were also named in the South Sea Drifters team for the Darwin 7's in Australia this weekend.

Fiji 7's manager, Tevita Waqairawai said that there was a confusion regarding the announcement of the names but these three players will travel with the Drifters to Darwain.

Also Uprising International 7's organiser, Randell Kamea said that they will name the replacements from the group of players they have in their texting competition.

The Matai selection team is expected to march into camp at the Peninsula hotel today where 7's wizard Waisale Serevi will look after the side before the arrival of technical adviser Gordon Tietjens.

The Uprising Fiji International 7's will kick-off on Friday with Samoa playing against Nadroga in the opening game at 9am and you can catch a live commentary on our sister radio station Viti FM.
