Residents of over 100 countries do not need a visa to come to Fiji.
Some of these countries include China, India, Canada and Pacific Island countries.
Director Immigration Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said the people of these countries are issued a visa once they arrive into the country.
However, according to Vuniwaqa, those who are coming from these countries for a short period of time need to have a return ticket with them to prove that they will leave the country in a short period of time.
Those people who will be found with a substantial amount of money will be thoroughly investigated by the Immigration and the Border Control Unit, before a decision is reached.
When questioned whether non-requirement of visas gives room for abuse and people using forged passports to come to Fiji, Major Vuniwaqa said his officers are doing their best so that those coming with fake passports are detected once they arrive.
He said they are also doing their best to clamp down on illegal immigrants.
