Land Transport Authority Spokesperson Iliesa Sokia said they have yet to release the number of buses who do not have the system as their enforcement officers have been out monitoring.
Sokia said that the bus companies need to get the system so that members of the public are not deprived of the service.
One of the bus companies which was operating without the system, Shore Buses Director Jasper Singh said they met with LTA CEO Naisa Tuinaceva on Tuesday and they are implementing the system.
Tebara Bus Company CEO Arvind Maharaj also confirmed that they met with LTA on the matter.
Meanwhile, Maharaj said they are expecting a response from Government today in relation to a petition which has been sent to the Prime Minister's Office, signed by 28 bus operators from around the country all showing concern on the e-ticketing system.
The petition said the current e-ticketing solution threatens closure of their businesses and claim that the Commerce Commission agrees the Vodafone monopoly over the e-ticketing system is a breach of the law.
However when contacted, some bus companies who signed the petition told Fijivillage that they have installed the e-ticketing machines in their buses and they are not against it however they want charges by the service provider to go down.
They say the data transmission charge of $1.50 per day per bus is exorbitant.
LTA said any bus without an e-ticketing machine will now be fined $10,000.
