Whenever there is continuous heavy rain and a threat of flash flooding, the Naqali Bridge in Naitasiri is one of the first bridges which are always reported to be under flood waters.

Now a solution is on the way.

The tender for the construction of the new Naqali Bridge in Naitasiri has been awarded to a Chinese Company by the Works and Public Utilities Ministry.

Ministry's Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said the Railway First group Company Limited had bid 5.7 million dollars for the construction and this is expected to start in January next year.

Waqainabete said the Ministry has laid down some rules this time to ensure that the construction work finishes on time and that the government does not face the same problem as it did with the construction company doing repair works on the Kings Road.
