Solomon Islands caretaker Prime Minister Dr Derek Sikua will be in the country by this weekend to attend the "Engaging Fiji Meeting".
Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation this morning reports that Secretary to the Prime Minister, Jeremiah Manele said Dr. Sikua received an official invitation from Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday and has responded positively.
Manele said this is basically a meeting of interested countries and friends of Fiji, stressing that the Solomon Islands government's position is to maintain an open door to Fiji.
He added they were looking forward to hearing what sort of progress Fiji has been making in the implementation of their road map as well as any progress towards the general election in 2014.
