The Solicitor General, Christopher Pryde has thanked all the overseas judges and Magistrates for their courage in coming to Fiji and taking up judicial offices.
In a cocktail hosted by the Solicitor General’s office last night, Pryde revealed that he is aware of the difficulties they faced with their decision.
More than 130 lawyers from across the country attended the cocktail with members of the judiciary, including former judges of the high court.
Pride said the cocktail gave the opportunity for the legal profession to mix with judges and an opportunity for government lawyers to get to better know their colleagues in the profession and an opportunity to welcome overseas judges and magistrates.

Meanwhile, the position of Chief Registrar in the Fiji Judicial System has become vacant following the departure of Ana Rokomokoti.
Her contract as Chief Registrar in the Civil Service has finished, but despite this the Office of the Chief Registrar continues normally.
Rokomokoti was appointed as Acting Chief Registrar since April last year and more recently was installed as Chief Registrar.
