Solicitor General emphasizes that Ratu Tevita will get fair trial
Pryde said from time to time, different people including the overseas media make the claims and create a perception that the courts in Fiji are being interfered with.
The application for the extradition of Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara from Tonga to Fiji had been sent by Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to Tonga's Prime Minister, Lord Tu'ivakano this morning.
Solicitor General, Christopher Pryde said the Tongan Extradition Act stated that it is the Tongan Prime Minister that has the authority to proceed on a case of extradition.
Pryde said all documentation required under the Tongan Extradition Act has been supplied to the Tongan authorities and the government looks forward to this case being expedited.
Meanwhile the Tongan government said its navy carried out a simple rescue mission and there was no deliberate plot to take Ratu Tevita out of Fiji.
Communications Director for Tonga's Prime Minister, Ahongalu Fusimalohi told Radio Australia that there is nothing sinister about what has happened.
However Fiji's Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has made it clear that Ratu Tevita was illegally extracted from the Fiji waters, one nautical mile Northwest of Cape Washington in Kadavu.
When questioned on the Tongan Navy entering the Fiji waters, Fusimalohi said he has to speak to the country's navy.
Fusimalohi also stressed that Tonga has not granted immunity to Ratu Tevita Mara.
