A 50-year-old Solider was today refused bail by Suva High Court on the reasons that he failed to comply with previous bail conditions.

The 50-year-old man is charged with 10 counts of indecent assault and three counts of incest by male.

It is alleged that in a period of 10 years from 1995 to 2005, the man indecently assaulted his daughter.

The charges of incest relate to the same victim.

The daughter is now 20-years-old but was 7-years-old when the first alleged incident occurred.

The man was granted bail in his first appearance in the Nausori Magistrate Court on the conditions that he was not to approach any prosecution witnesses, or to interfere with them.

Another condition was to stay away from the victim for a distance of 100 yards.

However, in the Court it was revealed the man met the victim at a prayer session with the intention of reconciling with his daughter.

Justice, Nazhat Shameem said this was in breach of two bail conditions.

Shameem added that the prayer session may have had an effect on the daughters wish to give evidence against her father.

The hearing date for the trial is yet to be set.
