A soldier charged with the alleged murder of Nakelo villager, Nimilote Verebasaga today pleaded not guilty to the charges against him when he first appeared in the High Court.

Corporal Maika Vuniwawa was served with full disclosures and pleaded not guilty before Judge Justice Daniel Gounder this morning.

State lawyer, David Toganivalu made submissions in the High court that Vuniwaqa surrender all his travel documents including his passport by 3pm this afternoon.

Justice Gounder ordered Corporal Vuniwawa's lawyer Haroon Ali Shah to produce his passport in the High Court by 3pm.

Toganivalu said that Vuniwawa has been bailed and will appear in court on 14th of January next year.

It is alleged that Corporal Vuniwawa assaulted Verebasaga to death after taking him from his house last year.
