The soldier charged for the murder of Nakelo Villager, Nimilote Verebasaga today appeared in the Suva High court.
Maika Vuniwawa today pleaded not guilty to his charges before Justice Nazhat Shameem.
Justice Shameem has adjourned the case to the 15th of August, when the murder trial will begin proper.
Vuniwawa is alleged to have assaulted Verebasaga at the Queen Elizabeth Baracks in December 2006 which resulted in his death.
