The Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation has received total of forty four complaints this month alone about people who should not be under the social welfare assistance scheme.

Permanent Secretary, Govind Sami said the ministry has set up a Public Call center which has been operational from 9th August this year as ministry received numerous complaints from public on ineligible individuals receiving Family Assistance.

The complaints were received between 9th and 22nd of this month and Sami said all complaints will be well investigated before any action is taken.

Sami has appealed public to assist the Ministry in identifying cases that can be weaned off so that assistance can be provided to the poorest of the poor.
