There will now be a twenty four service in place to address any reports of abuse or even complaints with regards to assistance from the Social Welfare Ministry.
This is after the signing of a memorandum of Understanding last week between the Ministry and Information Technology Systems which will see the Ministry being accessible to the public 24hours.
Though the Government ITC centre has been in operation since last year, as part of the agreement, the Centre will maintain a 24 hours and 7 days a week service and will see the general public's queries, complaints and even any reports being handled instantly.
Permanent Secretary, Govind Sami said this is part of ensuring that there is effective service provided to the public because at times, the Department is flooded with reports of misuse of Family Assistance fund and even general enquiries.
The Public Call Centre for the Ministry will see people call toll free 132777 to lodge complaints or for any queries.
