National soccer team coach Saiyad Ali is hoping that Fiji can make the top 100 in the FIFA world soccer rankings.

Fiji currently lies in 101st place, their best ever rankings and FIFA will release their next rankings on the 2nd of September.

Ali who is trying to get international games for Fiji as early as next year said the top 100 ranking could help them play against some of the top soccer teams outside the Oceania region.

Meanwhile, New Zealand who will be playing in the 2010 World Cup qualifier later this year, is now ranked 99 in the world after going a place up.

Australia, which has joined the Asian group, is the best mover in 16th place while Brazil remains the world's number one soccer team.
