The Fiji soccer team's tour to Tanzania this month has been called off.

They were invited to compete in a soccer tournament which coincides with the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Uganda.

Fiji FA chief executive Bob Kumar said they have not received any response from the Uganda Football Federation despite sending several e-mails for confirmation and as such they have no other option but to cancel their tour.

Meanwhile, Fiji soccer coach Carlos Buzetti said this is a setback as now they will have only two build-up matches against New Zealand next month, although they will be sending their second string side.
