Sniffing glue not only damages your brain cells but can also make you blind, deaf and even cost you your life.
Psychologist, Doctor Selina Kuruleca said most students who are sniffing glue will also have problems concentrating in class and may eventually end up on the streets.
Kuruleca said students tend to sniff glue because of peer pressure and the availability of the glue and the low prices.
She has called on parents to closely monitor their children’s behavior and also to see who they are with after school.
Dr Kuruleca was reacting to comments by police on Saturday that almost everyday, students in school uniform are arrested and brought to stations for glue sniffing.
Also on Friday night, a 15-year-old student was found unconscious along the road in Vatuwaqa who was sniffing glue. The hunt continues for the other three youths who were sniffing glue with him.
