Chiefs assistant coach Wayne Smith is questioning the training of television match officials after his team lost 28-25 to Hurricanes last night in the Super rugby.

This after the TMO awarded Hurricanes hooker Dane Coles the match-winning try with time up on the clock in Wellington.

The question was over whether he had made the try-line or done so with a double movement.

Smith questioned whether it is time for specialist TMO’s, as opposed to appointed regular referees.

The Chiefs need the Stormers to lose to the Rebels if they are to claim the top seeding for the playoffs.

In the matches today, Brumbies play Blues at 5.30, Crusaders host Force at 7.35 and Reds will play Waratahs at 9.40pm.
