Slow response to free bus fare programme
Senior Education Officer Suva, Pita Cavakilagi today reveals the District Education Offices are the pivotal points in the Programme as they are the ones that will be registering and handing out cheques to the schools, however less than 50% of primary schools in the Suva-Serua area have registered their school children for the Program.
Close to 101 schools that the Suva Headquarters handles is from Ratu Latianara Primary and Secondary in Serua along the Navua area right up to the greater Suva area and Cavakilagi adds that the deadline for registering is today and school heads need to register quickly.
The Office, which is open through this long holiday, has registered 80% turnout from Secondary schools and less than 50% for Primary schools.
School heads are being asked to take time during their long weekend to deliver the school roll of their students who travel to school by bus today to the Primary Headquarters Quality House in Suva.
