The Agriculture Ministry predicts a six to nine month recovery period to get the industry to what it once was before severe flooding in various areas around the country destroyed crops and farm areas.
Permanent Secretary, Dr Richard Beyer said alot of crops and livestock have been affected however he adds a full picture of damage sustained is still being conducted.
Beyer said they plan to purchase, gather through appeals and then distribute farming equipment to help people get back on their feet in the Agricultural areas.
