The Public Service Commission has confirmed that six permanent secretary posts have become vacant from the first of this month.

Chairman, Josefa Serulagilagi said the posts are expected to be advertised by mid next month and interested parties will be able to apply for the vacant positions.

Serulagilagi also said that two other posts including Permanent Secretary for Provincial Development and Multi Ethnic Affairs and the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister will become vacant in August at the expiry of the incumbents contract.

Meanwhile, six permanent secretary posts currently vacant include  Permanent Secretary for Defence, National Security and Immigration, Permanent Secretary for Education, National Heritage, Culture and Arts and Youth and Sports, Permanent Secretary for Industry and Trade, Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, Permanent Secretary for  Local Government, Urban Development, Housing and Environment, Permanent Secretary for Women and Social Welfare .
