Savenaca Siwatibau firmly believed in good governance being at the heart of development.

Those are the words of University of the South Pacific Vice Chancellor Rajesh Chandra at the launch of the book

"A Voice Of Reason-The Writings of Savenaca Siwatibau" which was edited by economist Professor Warden Narsey.

Chandra added Siwatibau was the reason the Pacific Institute of Advance Studies in Development and Governance (PIAS-DG) was formed, as Siwatibau argued that all of these were interrelated and needed to be taught and researched together, with an additional focus on good governance, which are all in the book.

The book, which was funded by the USP's Faculty of Business and Economics, was launched Chandra and Reserve Bank Governor Savenaca Narube.

Drawing on the late Siwatibau's experience as an academic, as the Governor of the Reserve Bank and as the Vice Chancellor of the USP, the book focuses on Macroeconomic policy and stability, Development Issues, Good governance and corruption and leadership.
