Jonny Wilkinson kicked six penalties and a drop goal to Toby Flood's five penalties in a hard fought encounter on the French south coast.
In the other quarter final, Munster beat Harlequins 18-12 this morning.
Munster will now face Sitiveni Sivivatu and Napolioni Nalaga's Clermont side in the second semi-final.
Sitiveni Sivivatu and Napolioni Nalaga scored a try each for Clermont as they helped their side book a cup semifinal spot in the Heineken Cup beating Montpellier 36-14.
Flying Fijians winger Timoci Nagusa scored a consolation try for Montpellier.
In the other quarterfinal Saracens beat Ulster 27-16.
