Sivaniolo Says He Was Not Treated Fairly By His Employer
Sivaniolo told Fijivillage news that he did not commit any crime because he was just forwarding the emails sent to him containing the photo of the President and NLTB Chairman Ratu Josefa Iloilo and Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
He said he was taken up to the Queen Elizabeth Barracks last month where a group of soldiers interviewed him and told him that he will lose his job at NLTB before he received the termination letter from Alipate Qetaki who was the Acting Executive Director of the board.
Sivaniolo said he was not treated fairly by his employer after working for NLTB for the last 19 years.
The Native Land Trust Board confirmed yesterday that it had terminated an officer working in its tourism section after he was found guilty of circulating emails containing the picture of the President and the Interim Prime Minister.
NLTB Public Relations Officer, Nimilote Naivalumaira said the officer received the email from someone before he forwarded it to a number of people.
He said the NLTB made the decision to terminate him after he refused to cooperate with the investigators.
