Advisory Member of Lodoni Tailevu, Mohammad Shahim said Lodoni flats are flooded with the strong winds and rainfall they have been experiencing since 6.30 pm.
Shahim said a few families are taking shelter at a neighbors residence.
DISMAC Operations Center is now trying to activate a number of evacuation centers in the Central Division.
DISMAC Officer Aisea Quminakelo confirms that they have been receiving calls from people are not feeling safe in their homes.
The Rewa River is rising rapidly and DISMAC Operations center in the area is advising people in the Rewa delta area to brace themselves for flash flooding.
Provincial Administrator Luke Maraivalu confirms that some villagers are moving to the designated evacuation centers.
He also confirms that people living along the coastal areas in Beqa are now facing very high seas and have moved to higher ground.
Meanwhile, 50 passengers are stranded in a Vatukoula Express bus near Nasau-toka in Nayavu.
Vatukoula Express manager, Satendra Prasad said that the bus left Suva at 3pm this afternoon but due to heavy rain and the bad road conditions the bus got stuck on the way to Vatukoula.
Prasad said that they will have to wait until the morning when the PWD workers repair the road for them to continue with the journey to Vatukoula.
