Situation Worsens In Nadi

The Commissioner Western says there is a likelihood that a curfew will be declared this afternoon for the safety of the people in Nadi town.
Joeli Rokovada says he will meet with the police and other officials this afternoon to assess the situation, and the need to ensure people are safe.
He adds they are prioritising the need to get people to their destinations who have been stranded especially tourists who are trying to make their flights home.
Nadi Weather Office Director, Rajendra Prasad said people should take precautions as heavy rain will continue this afternoon.
He said the situation will remain the same for the next 24 hours.
