Commonwealth Envoy Sir Paul Reeves hopes to return to Fiji to discuss further its political situation.

Radio New Zealand reports that Reeves, in an interview said, that on his visit to Fiji he expressed his view that it was vital to re-start broad-based dialogue on electoral and constitutional issues as soon as possible, rather delay this important work until 2012.

Reeves said despite this, he's not discouraged by subsequent statements from Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, that it remains committed to a five-year road map to elections.

Reeves added he would like to return to Fiji to further talks.
