There will only be one Sportsman and Sportswoman for this year in the annual awards night.
The news was revealed today by the acting CEO of Fiji Sports Council, Peter Mazey who has confirmed that they have had talks with FASANOC and have agreed that there is a need to come together for this event.
In the past both parties held their awards night separately but that will change this year.
Also today marked a special occasion for the Sports Council when they handed $3,000 to the Foundation For Education of Needy Children and $1,000 to Save the Children Fiji.
The money came from the auction of the Fiji 7's rugby jersey during the Sports Awards in February.
