Although the Samoa netball team brought in their experienced players, the Silver Ferns proved that they are more experienced with an 89-23 win over Samoa tonight.

Goal Attack Maria Tutaia who played in the first half of the game helped the team place an impressive 39-15 score before Jodi Brown was paired up with Goal Shooter Baley Mes in the second half.

On the defense side, Goal Keeper Phoenix Karaka was told to up her game on the side line by Coach Waimarama Taumaunu in the first quarter.

Taumaunu said Karaka focused more on the game plan than what she is really good at as a GK.

Goal Keeper Karaka said she was a bit over her head in her first appearance at the Oceania Tri-Series.

She was awarded Player of the Match.

Meanwhile, Samoa Assistant Coach Henry Tunupopo said the girls put on an impressive performance against the Ferns.

He added that there will be no big changes in their line-up as they gear up to their next match against the Fiji Pearls.

Samoa will take on the Fiji Pearls at 6.40 tonight at the Vodafone Arena.
