Sila Central leads Triple N Zone
Looking at the Fijivillage Medal Tally:
In the Boys Division, Sila Central has so far recorded 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, Muaniweni Secondary is second with 2 gold and 1 silver while defending champions Lelean Memorial is in third spot with 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
Looking at the Girls Division, defending champions Adi Cakobau School are still leading with 6 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze only one Gold medal came from the tracks in the 1500m from Akesa Drotini, while the rest of the medals came from the field events, Rewa Secondary is second with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
In third spot is Lelean Memorial with 1 gold and 1 silver.
Meanwhile, three Zone records have been broken at the Zone Meet.
The first record fell in the sub-junior girls 400m finals where Vaciseva Marama of Willam Cross College set a new record of 1 minute 06.76 seconds, the old record stood at 1 minute 08.60seconds.
The second record also fell in the sub junior division in the 400m finals where Muaniweni Secondary student Shavneel Chand ran a time of 1 minute 02.97 seconds, beating the old record which stood at 1 minute 03.06 seconds.
The third record was broken in the inter girls 400m heats by ACS Ana Tamani who ran a time of 59.74 seconds, the old time was 1 minute 02.02 seconds.
The Triple N Zone Athletics Meet is currently underway.
