Daniel Sikuta may be an unknown but he is dubbed the next household name in this season’s World Sevens Series as he is set to make his World Series debut for Kenya at the Gold Coast Sevens next week.

The 20-year-old former soccer player will continue his remarkable rise since first appearing at the 2011 Kenya Secondary Schools Sevens championships, where he was voted Most Valuable Player.

Sikuta has been included alongside fellow youngster Billy Odhiambo, who first appeared last season under former coach Mike Friday.

Most of the Kenya players are barely 20 and captain Andrew Amonde told irb.com that they have a chance to prove themselves.

The Gold Coast 7s kicks off next Saturday and Fiji is pooled with Wales, Canada and Portugal.
