Sigatoka residents without bus services
Concerns have been raised by the Advisory Councilor Naroro and Yalava flats, Ashok Kumar who said that the only transport available to people now are carriers and that people have found it hard to cope with no bus service especially on a Saturday which is a shopping day for most of the residents who wish to go into town.
Dominion Transport Director, Satya Nandan, whose buses service the area said that his first priority is the safety of the passengers and second the condition of his buses adding that the road is badly rigged with potholes, its water logged and slippery and dangerous for bus drivers and passengers travelling from the town to Kavanagasauand vice versa.
Nandan adds that bus services will only resume when the roads are safe to use.
Divisional Engineer Roads Western, Atunaisa Nayago said his people are currently at the Kavanagasau area trying to repair the roads.
Nayago adds that his men will be working throughout the weekend to ensure that repair works are complete.
