Two Sigatoka farmers have been remanded in custody for allegedly cultivating $1.09 million worth of marijuana.

Josefa Gavidi and Valetino Kama have both been remanded in custody by Sigatoka Magistrate, Mosese Naivalu.

Police Prosecutors told the court the investigation is continuing and the two should be kept in custody.

The matter has been adjourned till the 13th of next month where a plea is expected to be taken.

Officers from the Drug Unit raided the house of the two accused in Coral Coast yesterday morning and confiscated dried leaves and uprooted about 218 matured marijuana plants.
