Welsh fullback James Hook looks set to miss his side’s last two pool games and potentially a quarterfinal due to a shoulder injury.

Hook was forced off the field at halftime during his side’s key 17-10 win over Samoa on Sunday and initial reports suggest that the injury will see him out of action for the immediate future.

This will be taken as good news for the Flying Fijians as Hook was instrumental in his team’s crucial win over Samoa.

It appears that Hook has suffered grade one or two damage to the joint, an injury that usually means two or three weeks on the sidelines.

If that proves the case, he will miss next week’s clash against Namibia, the final pool game against Fiji and possibly a quarterfinal.

Wales play Namibia at 6.30pm next Monday.

Meanwhile, at 7.30pm today Italy will take on Russia in a Pool C match.
