A shortage in the supply of root crops and vegetables from the salad bowl of Fiji to the markets and hotels around the country is expected, as the effects of cyclone Mick is still being felt in the area.

Former Labour MP Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi said those farmers who used to supply their produce to the markets and hotels are starting from nothing again and it will take 5 to 6 months before they can meet the demand from their buyers.
