Many shopping outlets in the country have reduced prices on various items after the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama announced a decrease in fiscal duty for 2010.
The announcement included fiscal duty on Perfume, Cosmetic, Pre-Shaving or after shaving preparation, cameras, sunglasses, watches, Laptops, IPod, MP3 and MP4 players and Jewellery to be reduced from 15 percent to 0 percent.
President of Fiji Retailers Association Himmat Lodhia said almost all the retailers reduced prices instantly after the announcement however some retailers who are yet to change the prices should do it immediately.
Some major outlets in the country that Legend FM News spoke to confirmed that they reduced the prices on the said items soon after the 2010 budget announcement.
