Shipping problem the main concern
Pita Foiakau proposed if the Sullivan vessel which is serving the Northern Lau group be part of the Government franchise. This motion was also raised in the previous provincial council meetings.
However chairman of the Lau Provincial Council, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba said the proposal cannot be taken as a motion because the services of the Sullivan to Vanuabalavu are currently used as a testing route.
Ratu Uluilakeba said the members of the Council will discuss more on the shipping issues by tomorrow.
Meanwhile around 60 members of the Lau provincial council were in the meeting today chaired by Ratu Uluilakeba, also present were the Minister for Women, Dr Jiko Luveni, Minister for Lands, Netani Sukanaivalu, Minister for Education, Filipe Bole.
Meeting continues tomorrow at Studio 6 Convention Centre.
