Ship Tui Tai Helps Reinforce Fiji’s Place
The Tui Tai expedition has been recognized as one of the " 25 Best Trips for 2009" after National Geographic scanned the globe to identify just 25 trips that are deemed the best new adventure travel tours in the world.
The feature on the Tui Tai, titled " Live the Lost Island Life" highlights the vessels exceptional commitment to support the local people of Northern Fiji, is the rare outfitter that goes deeper to engage with islanders and connect clients with local culture.
Emphasizing the successful humanitarian projects in remote islands, National Geographic said the Tui Tai has forged relationships with island communities, and its priorities have shifted to philanthropy building schools and health clinics and starting a scholarship fund for kids.
Co-Founder of the Tui Tai Morika Young said the honour of this distinction belongs equally to all their village partners.
In a statement, Interim Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum said for the luxury adventure ship to be featured on National Geographic was indeed a milestone and is another testament that Fiji remains a unique world class tourist destination.
